Bras Basah Complex is a shopping centre integrated into a small public housing (HDB) cluster in the city centre of Singapore. This decades-old mall occupies the first few floors of an HDB residential complex in an area bounded by Cashin Street, Bain Street, Victoria Street and North Bridge Road.
The shopping centre comprises mainly bookshops, art supplies stores, watch retailers and sports equipment retailers. Bras Basah Complex has a few eateries and cafes serving a crowd made up mainly of students and nearby office workers. The National Library's main Central Library is located across Bain Street from Bras Basah Complex.
The nearest MRT station to Bras Basah Complex is Bras Basah MRT Station (CC2) of the Circle Line. Alternatively further away is City Hall MRT Station (EW13/NS25) of the East-West / North-South Lines - walk towards and across Bras Basah Road, past Raffles Hotel and across North Bridge Road.
By public bus
Being in the city centre, many bus lines are available - stop opposite Bras Basah Complex along North Bridge Road, or nearby on either side of Victoria Street.
By car (carpark charges)
The Bras Basah Complex has an underground carpark at about $1 per half-hour. Rate is halved during off-peak hours - Monday to Saturday evening after 5pm, and whole day on Sunday / Public Holiday.
