JEM is a new (mid-2013) suburban mall in the Jurong East Central area. This large shopping centre with more than 800,000 square feet of retail space is located in the Jurong Gateway area (which is the revitalized Jurong East central area). The mall occupies the lower first six levels of the building complex with the upper part being office/commercial space.
With more than two hundred shops, JEM brings a range of trendy retailers and brands to the western side of Singapore. These brands include popular Swedish clothing chain H&M, jeans store Levi's, Spanish ladies' fashion giant MANGO. This Jurong mall boasts a bevy of jewellery and accessories stores including SK Jewellery, Poh Heng, Lee Hwa Jewellery, and Goldheart Jewelry, as well as contemporary Swiss watch brand Swatch. For book lovers who still like their books in paper, Japanese bookstore Kinokuniya has set up shop here as well, making its first foray into the suburbs of Singapore.
In the food department, JEM has no lack of options for shoppers, workers and residents of nearby offices and housing estates. From Toast Box to Starbucks Coffee; from pizza and pasta maker PastaMania to steakhouse Jack's Place; from Imperial Treasure Seafood Restaurant for Chinese cuisine lovers to Marche Movenpick for European fare, JEM has something to suit every palate with some seventy F&B outlets.
Other major JEM tenants include NTUC Fairprice Xtra Hypermart supermarket and home furnishings giant Courts, as well as a 10-hall cinema complex by Cathay for movie fans.
